Because the earth is no longer below you, the portal is. If you put two Portals on top of each other there would be nothing below you to exert gravitational force on you, ergo it would be 0 gravity
Tell me, if you have two portals one over the other, and you stand in it, what’s below you? Nothing. It’s the other portal. Because of this you don’t have the planet below you. So it can’t pull you down, because the portal creates a hole in the gravitational field
Your logic is that because there is nothing but a portal beneath you, earth gravity could not pull you towards its center.
If I dig a hole straight down until I resurface the other way then jump in that hole there is nothing beneath me but you would still fall attracted to the center of the earth (ignoring everything but gravity in this example of course).
Also there is no such thing as 0 gravity. You would still be attracted to anything on the sides even if your theory was true.
I hope this example helped you fren! if it wasn’t enough I can explain it to you with the physical laws that are in correlation with this question!
You don’t seem to understand. If you had two Portals, one above the other, as shown in this post, you have created a loop. If you stand in that loop, you no longer have the earth below you, you just have the loop. There is no way for gravitational force to enter the loop, assuming the Portals overlap perfectly. Because where the earth would be is just the loop. You would have created a zone where gravity doesn’t enter. There is no path between you in the loop and the earth
No that’s not true, it wouldn’t be cut off from earth. All the portals do is make it so anything going through one side comes out the other, like a hole in a floor/wall. So as an example if you cut a hole in your floor(assuming that there’s another floor under you) and jump in it, gravity acts on you pulling you downward. It’s the same thing if you had a portal gun except instead of falling from the ceiling in the floor below, you come from the ceiling on the original floor.
Assuming gravity still works as normal, the feet will be pulled down, that force continues down the body and thus through the portal until it reaches the feet pushing down again, i think barely any force is lost while gravity can keep adding. I think you'd accelerate fren.

Quick question if you are in a postion like this do you accelerate or hold still
1 Phoenix_Fire_ 2019-06-16
Hold still because you would be in 0 gravity
1 Elufson 2019-06-16
Why would this result in zero gravity?

Fren maybe you should go to special ed class for a bit to get some help in physics

Can we all stop acting like intellectuals, frens. We’re talking about devices that make holes in the fabric of the universe!!! Scary stuff :((
1 Rhett_Harded 2019-06-16
I wish there was a device that could close the holes in the fabric of the universe.
Maybe then everybody could be frenly.
1 swsdhebjsudu69 2019-06-16
There's a space inbetween the portals though fren...
1 ImperatorEpaulette 2019-06-16
But we know that the portal is only on the surface of things, it would be not to different from putting a thin block under you
1 papa_john7 2019-06-16
Pretty sure you’ll still fall just like normal
1 swsdhebjsudu69 2019-06-16

1 LlaamaaFarmer 2019-06-16
Well youd reach terminal velocity pretty fast but ye youd be pretty screwed
1 MobileRedditOnly 2019-06-16
Shoot blue portal at ground and fly really high!
1 WILDxLOCUS 2019-06-16
Wouldn't it just rip you in half if the top portal is pulling and the bottom is also pulling?
1 swsdhebjsudu69 2019-06-16
I believe the top portal is pushing down
1 WILDxLOCUS 2019-06-16
Thanks for correcting me
1 swsdhebjsudu69 2019-06-16
No worries fren, but remember this is a highly theoretical situation and my idea isn't really more valuable than yours.
1 BorisHisJohnson 2019-06-16
It's not theoretical for me ;_;
1 109_countries 2019-06-16
You will accelerate until you reach terminal velocity.

What would happen if you slowly move the portals closer together with a moving ceiling or something? Would you travel to another dimension?
