Basically there is a dimension outside our own that is home to an endless maze of corridors and abondoned rooms, sometimes housing different creatures. EThis “maze” is called The Backrooms, and is kinda turning out to be SCP 2, because people are making a wiki and lore of all the different creatures and rooms
Afaik, it started as a 4chan post with the original image, describing how this is where you would end up if you noclip through the level. You would end up in an endless maze of rooms that sort off felt familiar, but creepy at the same time. Then everyone started go ham with creating lore and memes, etc
