I took a contemporary art history course at Nonfren U, and every piece was just an excuse to "study" some political statement that was not at all discernible from the art itself. You need a "teacher" to tell you what contemporary art means because in itself it is meaningless, it is simply a token used to abstractly represent a political ideology.
In addition it used to do tax froud by commissioning a piece and the getting someone to judge its price, and if the person had to pay 5mil in tax the person judging a piece will say it costs 5 mil, it will be then given to a museum, because of US law if you give a piece to a museum you have to pay that much less tax
Thanks, that is a big piece of the puzzle for me. I've studied it in Canada, I wonder if the same tax exemptione xists. I had wondered why in the 50s you started getting this huge push for Government subsidy of "bachelor of fine arts" programs, prior to that 'art' was a technical/vocational school thing, like sewing. The way the racket works for the "artists" in Canada is that the grantwriting cycle is based on how many previous exhibitions you've had, you need at least one to even apply, and almost nobody will be able to hold an art exhibition (unless they own property). So, as part of your BFA degree, you get to be part of an exhibition or two in some student gallery thus giving you a leg up over hoi polloi re: grantwriting.
money was laundered with this, and two politicians could be bribed with a "commission" for the sale. this could be your money, too, fren, if you are smart.

Try looking outside the box fren. Sometimes you can find real meaning out there, to make sense of the inside feels

The white represents racism and black spots represent diversity being oppressed by all that whiteness.
