Gotta pop the lid by lifting the edge with a spoon, then it opens easy.

Unfortunately my boyfren replaced our cutlery with some fancy, expensive cutlery set and now I can't use the spoons to pop the lids so I can open jars (scared to damage them), and we are both noodle-arms so getting a jar open takes like 5 mins of us struggling now :(

Try running hot water on the lid for couple seconds or use one of those silicone mats for additional grip if it's those smooth metal lids
