This is simply not true. A lot of the time, depression is caused by an imbalance of chemicals in the brain. And try as you might, prayer won’t help that.

Maybe not for that. But for others just being more aware and having a fulfilling life can help. Being a good Christian non degenerate would lend itself to a healthier life and going to the gym more which also helps a million even if it is not direct divine intervention. There’s secular reasons to be Christian, too, other than just heaven.

Coming from a former Christian living in the southern USA, a “relationship with god” does not equate to a healthy lifestyle. If I had to guess, i would say more atheists live healthier lifestyles than Christians. I would also say that in general, more Christians live lifestyles that are unhealthy, simply because there is an attitude of “at least if my unhealthy lifestyle kills me, I’ll go to heaven.”
